Home Based Services currently provides support to over 400 developmentally disabled children and children at risk of disability, and their families. The mission of the Home Based Services Division is to support children with developmental needs and their families in the home and community by promoting and empowering families. Our goal is to help the child and family to become as independent as possible, for as long as possible. The Home Based Services Division is committed to providing quality services to children and families in Region II. Region II is comprised of nine counties in Central Montana that include Cascade, Toole, Glacier, Pondera, Chouteau, Hill, Liberty, Teton, and Blaine counties. Offices for the children’s services are located in Havre, Shelby, Browning and Great Falls.
With the commitment of providing quality services comes a responsibility to ensure that all professionals providing direct services to children and their families are competent professionals who meet the state’s highest standard for certification as a Family Support Specialist. The certification process is multi-dimensional and built around education and what Family Support Specialists do each day as they go about the job of assisting children and families. The process is three-tiered, involving Primary Certification for new employees, Comprehensive Certification for employees after a two-year training period, and re-certification every five years of employment.
Our Children’s home based services include the Infant/Toddler program, Full Family Education and Support, The Children’s Waiver Service, The Children’s Autism Waiver and Applied Behavior Analysis Services covered by private insurance or private pay.
