Direct Support Professional

Quality Life Concepts has immediate openings for Full and Part-Time Direct Support Professional I. This is a non-exempt hourly position. Variety of shift opportunities are available. Starting wage is $15.45/hr. 

SIGN ON BONUS OPPORTUNTIES! Receive up to $500 within 30 days for completing a 2-week paid orientation training and passing the medication test. Receive $500 more for successful completion of a 6-month probationary period and promotion to a Direct Support Professional II.

Job Summary:

The primary function of the Direct Support Professional is to provide support for our clients to capably, safely, and confidently thrive in their own home and community. This position is relied upon for assisting clients with daily living skills, personal care, medication administration, transportation to and from medical appointments, community, and work activities, general housekeeping duties, and to ensure the overall health and safety of our clients. 

WHAT WILL YOU DO

  • Help clients learn applicable life skills and reach their personal goals according to their plan of care.
  • Assist in daily living activities including cooking, cleaning, shopping, etc.
  • Provide support for medical and health needs.
  • Assist clients with personal care, including dressing, mobility, administering medication, personal hygiene, eating and transporting to and from medical and other appointments.
  • Support people’s preferences for community activities, leisure activities and work, as well as being and advocate for them to exercise their rights in various settings.
  • Establish and maintain friendly, compassionate, respectful professional working relationships with people receiving services, family members and support teams in a manner that reflects our values and culture.
  • Complete incident reporting as required.
  • Promotes safe and healthy workplace and practices across the agency.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO BRING

  • Must be dependable and reliable.
  • Must have basic computer skills and be able to use all required software.
  • Must have ability to solve problems and assist in decision-making, including during emergencies.
  • Must have the ability to work productively with individuals and other team.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • HS diploma/GED required.
  • Must pass a criminal background check.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with an insurable driving record.
  • Ability to push, pull, bend, stoop, reach, and lift/and or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule to include weekends and holidays.

Direct Support Professional - Awake Nights

Are you inspired to offer genuine care for people who depend on you AND are a night owl who prefers to work when it’s a bit quieter? Then please apply to join our team!

Quality Life Concepts has immediate openings for Full and Part-Time Awake Night Direct Support Professionals. Shifts are 8 pm to 6 am. This is a non-exempt hourly position. Starting wage is $15.45/hr plus a $.50 night shift differential for hours worked between 10 pm and 6 am.

Job Summary:

The primary functions of the Awake Night Direct Support Professional is to ensure the overall safety of clients during typical sleeping hours.  This position is relied upon for night time client care as well as fulfilling agency requirements that allow better services and supports to our clients overall. 

WHAT WILL YOU DO

  • Ensures the immediate night-needs of clients are implemented according to their plan of care as well as agency and state requirements. 
  • Supports clients with general housekeeping functions, laundry, meal prep, toileting and other hygiene needs and smooth transitions from night time to morning routines. 
  • Effectively identifies and responds to the needs of our people while ensuring compliance with QLC policy and procedure.
  • Fulfills the obligations as a mandatory reporter of abuse, neglect or exploitation.
  • Establishes and maintains friendly, compassionate, respectful professional working relationships with people receiving services, family members and support teams in a manner that reflects our values and culture.
  • Completes incident reporting as required.
