Ways To Support
Project Happy Home
Companies, civic organizations, churches and individuals “adopt” one or more of our group homes during the holidays, either with cash donations for presents for the clients from their wish lists, or by sponsoring/hosting activities with our clients (holiday cookie decorating, caroling, etc.)
Vegas in the Falls
Our annual fundraiser requires several volunteers: to prepare the silent auction gift baskets a few weeks prior to the event and help out in the silent auction room the night of, register guests at the door, deal poker, run the game/raffle tables. Last year we had over 30 volunteers just to deal poker and volunteering for a shift allows them free entry into the event for the remainder of the evening. We also had over 250 companies and community members donate items for our silent auction.
Pancakes with the Easter Bunny
Our annual breakfast and Easter Egg Hunt for children/families in our services provides a safe and warm atmosphere for children with special needs to enjoy a childhood tradition. People donate their time to help make/serve breakfast (attended by over 100 people annually), as well as donating bulk food items, plates, napkins and plastic eggs/treats/candy/prizes for the hunt.
Because of the nature of our work, volunteers cannot typically work directly with clients, but we’ve had people volunteer in our office to help with light administrative duties and assist with various projects, depending on the time of year.
Two years in a row now we’ve hosted a formal prom for our clients. In the past, people have donated formal dresses and shoes, tuxedo rentals, cupcakes/catering, limo rides, hair and nail services, professional photographs.
We accept donations of any kind that our clients would be able to use (monetary, clothes, furniture, kitchen/household items) in order to help them live their most independent lives.
